Itinerary
11 Days in Namibia, an unforgettable experience
Day 1 – Arrival at Windhoek Airport before 15.00 (Dinner included)
You’ll meet the group and us at the airport where we will collect the 4x4s and drive to a guesthouse close to Windhoek. We’ll have dinner together, so we can get to know each other a little. You’ll also get the chance to tell us what you would like the most from this tour, so we can adapt the tuition to your needs.
Day 2 – Sossusvlei (Breakfast Lunch Dinner included)
As soon as we finish our first breakfast in Namibia we’ll get into our 4x4s and head for Sossusvlei. We will stop for lunch in Solitaire before to drive on to Sossusvlei where we will check in to our lodge where we will stay for two nights. In the late afternoon we will drive to the dunes that made this valley so famous. As the light hits the dunes from the side, there will be a beautiful contrast between light and shadows.
Day 3 – Sossusvlei (Breakfast Lunch Dinner included)
We get up before sunrise to go to Deadvlei as early as possible. Here we will find the dead camel thorn trees surrounded by red dunes. The white floor of the pan, the red sand of the dunes and the sky make an amazing color pallette. We’ll have a well deserved breakfast and later in the morning there’s time to introduce you to post-processing with Lightroom CC. We’ll use some of the photos we’ve taken so far to show you what is possible to bring out the best of your photos. We’ll relax in the early afternoon, so we’ll be ready for another drive to the dunes before sunset.
Day 4 – Walvisbay (Breakfast Lunch Dinner included)
We’ll get back on the road early since it will be a long drive today. We’ll drive back to Solitaire and from there to Walvisbay. We’ll drive through vast, empty, but beautiful landscapes. We can stop for a photo every now and then of course. We’ll also cross the Capricorn and officially enter subtropical territory. We’ll arrive in Walvisbay on the Atlantic Ocean in the late afternoon.
Day 5 – Walvisbay (Breakfast Dinner included)
Today we’ll take a boat to see wildlife in the Atlantic ocean. We’ll see sea lions, pelicans, hopefully dolphins and who knows what more. Most of the rest of the day is to relax. You could see the neighboring town of Swakopmund or just enjoy the beach. In the evening we’ll head into the dunes to photograph the sunset as the sun sinks into the ocean.
Day 6 – Spitzkoppe (Breakfast Dinner included)
We will start the day with an easy shoot from the shore of the flamingos. These pink birds wade through the low water searching for food and rest on the sand banks. After breakfast we’ll drive to Swakopmund, where we can have lunch, before we move on for a short drive to Spitzkoppe. Here we will find a natural arch and curiously shaped rocks which will be a lot of fun photographing.
Day 7 – Etosha (Breakfast Lunch Dinner included)
After an early breakfast we get into our vehicles and go the ‘Great White Place’ or Etosha National Park. Today will be a long drive to Etosha. This is one of the main attractions of Namibia and rightly so. This huge park, which seems so arid and hostile to wildlife, is actually full of animals. We will have time until sunset to watch the animals go about their routine and photograph them in their environment. For those who can’t get enough of wildlife photography, we can go to the waterhole of the camp and see who comes to drink in the dark.
Day 8 – Etosha (Breakfast Lunch Dinner included)
We will have the whole day in Etosha. We will start with a morning game drive to spot more of the animals that live here. During the day we can go through a bit of post-processing with Lightroom CC using some of the photos we made during our stay here. In the afternoon we go out once more to look for the beauty of this national park.
Day 9 – Waterberg (Breakfast Lunch Dinner included)
We’ll leave Etosha and will drive to Waterberg National Park. This park is situated on a plateau and called Namibia’s table mountain. The landscape is very different from Etosha, and we’ll get the chance to see different animals, like the white rhino. We’ll close the day with a sundowner on the edge of the plateau.
Day 10 – Windhoek (Breakfast Lunch Dinner included)
After a last morning game drive and breakfast, we can go through our photos once more and use Lightroom CC to bring out the magic. In the afternoon we will drive to Windhoek, the capital and largest city of Namibia. We’ll have our last dinner together.
Day 11 – Departure from Windhoek after 11.00 (Breakfast included)
After breakfast it’s time to go to the airport and say goodbye. We’re sure you go back home with beautiful memories and lots of photos.
What to expect
Expect to be amazed. Namibia is truly unique and sets itself apart from other African countries. It’s a vast country with less than 2 million inhabitants. Nature is still very dominant and its ancient desert impose respect. It is also incredibly beautiful! There’s lots of wildlife and landscapes that will take your breath away. We’ll be in just a small group, no more than 5 participants, so we can give you personal attention. We have selected comfortable guesthouses and lodges, so a good night’s rest is assured. Most meals are included in the tour price.
We will use four wheel drive vehicles, since most roads in Namibia are gravel roads. This also gives us the freedom to drive through Etosha by ourselves. This tour is fit for all photography levels. If you are a beginner we can help you become a better photographer. If you are at an advanced level, this photo tour is perfect. There will be plenty of opportunity for both.
Discover Namibia with us and it will most probably not be your last visit.

Important Information

Travel/medical insurance for the duration of the tour is compulsory. Note that this insurance shall also cover repatriation. At the start of the tour you will be asked for a paper copy of your insurance, without which you will not be able to participate.
What you need to bring
Photographic equipment
This journey is fit for all levels of photography. You can bring any photo camera you wish, but to make the most of this tour we suggest a (D)SLR. If you already know how to set the various programs, we will then help you to use them for the best results.
The following list indicates a few suggestions, and give an idea what would be useful:
- DSLR(Digital Single Lens Reflex) or mirrorless
- Lens 24-70mm (for landscapes)
- Lens up to 300/400mm (for wildlife, but very useful also for landscapes)
- Tripod (a necessity for low light photography)
- Polarizing filter
- Tissue to clean your lens(es) (Namibia is a dusty country, the tissues you use for your glasses are working fine)
- Extra battery
- Memory cards (you can probably buy memory cards in Swakopmund, but it’s better to be prepared)
Cancellation Policy
The deposit of 50% is refundable until the minimum number of participants is reached. You will be notified when this is the case. Once the minimum number is reached, all accommodation, 4×4, etc. are booked. From this moment we won’t be in the position to refund the 50% deposit. In the case you cancel your tour more than 2 months before the start of the tour, we can refund 50% of the full price. From 2 months up to the departure of the tour, no refund can be made. For this reason we suggest you to get a cancellation insurance.
Frank –
What an amazing experience! We went on the Namibia photography tour and it exceeded our expectations. At first we were a bit worried about the long distances, but it worked out really well and everything was well organised. It was amazing to see all the animals in their natural habitat! We learned more about photography and came back with some great images.

The Namibia photo tour is amazing! It’s a fantastic trip with beautiful sceneries, wildlife and great organisation.
I got as much photographic support as I needed. I can recommend this tour to other travellers at any time.

We have just returned from this trip and I have to say that it was a fantastic experience. Our primary reason for taking this trip was to photograph the dunes in Sossusvlei and the wildlife in Etosha. The dunes were amazing and I captured some amazing images. The wildlife in Etosha was really special. It’s amazing what you can see even around the waterhole in the camp.
The accommodations were all fine and comfortable. David, the photographic instructor, was excellent and provided many tips on how to best capture the landscapes and wildlife.
This is a great trip with different experiences all in one trip and I can highly recommend signing up.
